25 YEARS RESIDENTIAL SURFACE FINISH LIMITED WARRANTY
Your floors will be warrantied for 25 years from the invoice date. All guidelines for installation and maintenance must be met. The installation must be done by professional and licensed installers in the rules of National Wood Floors Association (NWFA) standards. The surface finish is warranted not to wear through or separate from the floors under normal residential traffic conditions. The warranty covers normal use of the floor but is void if the floor is installed in damp and humid spaces such as sauna, laundry rooms, bathrooms, and basements (aka below grade). Natural floor characteristics and defects that are not desired should not be installed. This warranty does not cover manufacturing defects in flooring and/or floor components that show visible abnormalities that have been installed and that reasonably could have been discovered by you or your installer prior to installation. KHLA Hardwood must be notified within 7 business days of the discovery of the defect. The warranty given is only valid for the floor components supplied. KHLA Hardwood cannot be held liable for labor costs, man-hours, the cost of additional materials or other loss incurred.

The warranty covers normal use of the floor but is void if the floor is installed in damp and humid spaces such as sauna, laundry rooms, bathrooms, and basements (aka below grade). Natural floor characteristics and defects that are not desired should not be installed. This warranty does not cover manufacturing defects in flooring and/or floor components that show visible abnormalities that have been installed and that reasonably could have been discovered by you or your installer prior to installation. Under this warranty, KHLA Hardwood will at its option either repair or resupply the defective floor components. KHLA Hardwood must be given the opportunity to repair
the defect in a manner of its choosing or have it done by a third party. If the product in question is to be replaced but is no longer available, KHLA Hardwood warrants that it will be replaced by an alternative product of the same quality. Due to the nature of the product, replacement flooring is not guaranteed to match the original flooring in terms of color, tone, pattern or other characteristics of wood. You are responsible to pay for shipping and handling of any replacement flooring and additional materials required to install replacement floorings (e.g., labor to remove flooring, labor to install replacement flooring, additional materials required to install replacement flooring, removal of any household fixtures, or furniture required to repair or replace, hotel stays required due to repair or replacement, etc.). These remedies are your sole and exclusive remedies under this warranty. The warranty period will not be changed even if a complaint has been recognized or resolved.
All defined site conditions must be met before, during, and after installation. Maintain normal conditions of temperature and humidity in the house throughout the year. Temperature should be between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit and between 30 and 50% relative humidity. If necessary, place humidifier or dehumidifier. KHLA Hardwood cannot be held responsible for site conditions.
This warranty does not cover any defects unless the square footage of such defective flooring exceeds ten percent (10%) of the total square footage of purchased flooring.
All flooring warranties, including implied warranties, if any, apply to the original retail purchaser of the flooring only. All warranty coverage terminates if you sell or otherwise transfer the flooring or the property to which the flooring is attached.
WHAT THIS LIMITED WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER
Reduction in gloss.
Marks, scuffs, scratches, gouges, dents, including, without limitation, those caused
by pets and moving of furniture and other objects.
Damage caused by negligence, accidents, misuse, abuse (i.e., dragging object
across the floor without proper protection, use of adhesive tape, use of steam
cleaner).
Wear and tear caused by pebbles, sand, gravels, or other abrasives, construction
traffic, or failure to maintain the floor as required based on KHLA Hardwood’s
Guidelines for Installation and Maintenance.
Splits, cracks, grain raising, checking, edge fracturing, splintering or chipping that
occur during or after installation and as a result of improper maintenance or care,
exposure to excessive moisture during cleaning or improper site conditions.
Stains due to the presence of animal urine and feces.
Result of inconsistent flooring heating and/or sudden change of temperature
settings.
Problems occur from humidity or water damage.
This warranty does not cover variances found in samples or photographs supplied by dealers or variances in between samples and flooring actually received by you, including color, grain, markings, tone, knots, brushing, structure, mineral streaks, appearance of sapwood light streaks, cracks, splits, fills, and other variations. Such characteristics will vary from batch to batch and grade to grade and are to be considered natural imperfections and are not defects and KHLA Hardwood accepts no responsibility due to same. Individual samples provided, or display boards in the showroom, do not display all variations or properties of the final product.
This warranty does not cover damages caused by or relating to improper transportation, storage, or installation of the flooring. KHLA Hardwood’s wood flooring must be correctly installed according to the Guidelines for Installation and Maintenance.The warranty does not cover defects and/or faults are the result of incorrect usage or careless handling and use for another purpose than intended, or ignoring maintenance instructions or warnings. The warranty is also null and void unless strict adherence to supplied maintenance and care instructions and schedule are followed.
Should a dispute arise, each party can appoint an independent expert to offer binding advice concerning the floor components supplied.
